My middle name is Nuance, Barry Nuance Obama…
Via Drudge we have a report that Obama was asked on C-Span,
At what point do we run out of money?
The chilling response,
Well, we are out of money now. We are operating in deep deficits, not caused by any decisions we’ve made on health care so far. This is a consequence of the crisis that we’ve seen and in fact our failure to make some good decisions on health care over the last several decades.
See what he did there? We are in trouble not because of health care decisions that we made so far, but because of bad decisions we made in the past. And when I say “we”, of course I mean George Bush. A double whammy. First, he gets in the obligatory Bush bash, on which his admirers thrive. Secondly, he gets to peddle the canard that his unsustainable debt load will somehow be offset by the massive savings we will reap from universal health care. In Barry’s world, the whole financial mess is related to healthcare, as it is the next step in his Socialize America plan, so he pushes this,
the long-term problem is Medicaid and Medicare.
In his twisted thought process only by radical healthcare reform can we extricate ourselves from this financial dilemma. In other words, the problem is also the solution. We are in the very best of hands.
Over at Hot Air there is a very lively, and troll bashing, discussion on this very topic.
Patterico has more, plus the usual lively discussion.
It’s a holiday weekend, so I decided to inject a little levity.
