The Rovemeister, Roverini, Rovester…It’s all Rove(r) now…
You get the picture. Our dear president has been morphing into George Bush, especially on matters of national security, with nary a word of dissent from the MSM. It is good news for the nation, but had I been an Obama supporter, I might be a little miffed at this point. In terms of sticking up for himself, or his policies,  Dubya just will not do it. It is a trait of the man that I admired, even though I was not ultimately a fan of either his stance on illegal immigration, nor his profligate spending. However,  both Dick Cheney and Karl Rove have shown that they are more than willing to get down and dirty with Barry and his two-faced policies.Â
From this article by Rove in The WSJ,
Barack Obama inherited a set of national-security policies that he rejected during the campaign but now embraces as president. This is a stunning and welcome about-face.
Ain’t that the truth? Karl hits the nail on the head with these observations,
These reversals are both praiseworthy and evidence that, when it comes to national security, being briefed on terror threats as president is a lot different than placating MoveOn.org and Code Pink activists as a candidate.
In his very incisive way, Rove goes on to dissect the way that Barry was able to say one thing on the campaign trail, yet is unfettered by restraint when it is pragmatic for him to do the opposite, citing,
What animated him during the campaign is what historian Forrest McDonald once called “the projection of appealing images.” All politicians want to project an appealing image.
I encourage you to read the whole thing here, but I will give Mr Rove the final word,
Mr. Obama either had very little grasp of what governing would involve or, if he did, he used words meant to mislead the public. Neither option is particularly encouraging. America now has a president quite different from the person who advertised himself for the job last year.
Indeed.
Update: Michelle Malkin has more on Barry’s nuanced stances. And Hot Air has more on Cheney’s speech. Wouldn’t heads explode if he ran in 2012?
