Pot of tea for 250,000 please
It has been estimated that over 250,000 attended tax day protests yesterday. I have not seen any reports of any altercations or violence, which I am sure the MSM would have fallen over themselves to report, had it occurred. Reaction has been interesting with many pundits and pols attempting to cast it as anti-Obama, or as being driven by mysterious forces to prevent over taxation of the “rich.” What they wilfully ignore is that people are mad at all politicians, regardless of party affiliation, and with good reason.
The perennially clueless Nancy Pelosi decided to capture her ignorance for posterity in a Fox News interview, as this Weekly Standard article reports,
“This initiative is funded by the high end; we call it AstroTurf, it’s not really a grass-roots movement. It’s AstroTurf by some of the wealthiest people in America to keep the focus on tax cuts for the rich instead of for the great middle class,” Pelosi said
as she tried to push a false meme that has already been debunked.
If you do not believe this is a bi-partisan uprising, witness what happened in Sacramento, as reported by Michelle Malkin.
Meckler said he heard that California GOP chair Ron Nehring was in the audience. Meckler invited him to say hi to the crowd — and then ripped him for waffling on the massive tax hike ballot measures (particularly Prop1A – $16 billion tax hikes).
Massive boos from the crowd of thousands here against the Calif. GOP establishment.
The wagons are circling. Are you listening Dodd, Rangel, Frank, Reid, Pelosi, Specter, Collins, Stowe, et al? We have the power to not elect these people, if only we would use it. Remember these are the fools who gave us mandatory CFL light bulbs that almost require a Hazmat team to dispose of. The same fools that passed legislation that outlawed thrift stores selling used clothing to children. Why? As ever, just follow the money. Right now Gubmint is broke[n]. If we don’t take steps to fix it soon, the country will be damaged beyond repair.
