Teleprompter-in-Chief throws entire nation under bus

One of the reasons I started a blog was that I was not happy with the direction this country was headed, and I needed to vent my frustration.  A happy by-product of this process has been the many new things I learn, on a daily basis, whilst researching  the stories I feature.  Yesterday, I wrote of Barry’s apparent disconnect between what is actually happening in Europe, and what he is trying to sell to the folks back home.  As I poked around the inter-tubes I came across this excellent article at Powerline which further underscores my point, and his disdain for America.

In America, there is a failure to appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world. Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.

Seriously?  The only leading role these people have is jostling to get to the front of the line for American aid.  We police the world, and they greatly benefit from this, yet they make no real contribution to that effort.  Charles Krauthammer hits the nail on the head in this video excerpt.

Powerline reminds us of the following, which is a lesson Barry would do well to heed.

Once upon a time Republican Sen. Arthur Vandenberg forcefully articulated the proposition that “politics stops at the water’s edge.” The year was 1952, President Truman was in office and America was at war. Daniel Henninger has observed that Vandenberg’s point was, as he put it, “to unite our official voice at the water’s edge so that America speaks with maximum authority against those who would divide and conquer us.” In recent years, Henninger commented, we have had the opposite — a domestic political war waged relentlessly at the water’s edge.

As he attempts to unite the world, he is disrespecting America on foreign soil.  He represents all Americans, even those who did not vote for him, and should never disparage those who disagreed with him, and especially not former President Bush as it makes him, and the entire country, look weak and divided.  He continued with this outrageous statement,

When we saw what happened in Abu Ghraib, that wasn’t good for our security — that was a recruitment tool for terrorism. Humiliating people is never a good strategy to battle terrorism.

That was never our strategy, Barry.  The so-called torture was never part of our policy.  It was the work of a few renegades who were imprisoned for their deeds. Oh my God Buffy, we humiliated some terrorists.  The inhumanity!

Meanwhile, as Obama humbles himself in front of the Europeans, to no avail as they almost unanimously declined to offer any meaningfull assistance, the North Koreans launched a rocket.  At the very same time that Barry was calling for a world without nukes, they decided to rub his face in the dirt. Ed at Hot Air has that story.

Can you imagine how he would fare in talks with the Russians.  They will eat his lunch.
