America jumps the shark
It is now officially over. Those incompetent, nay criminal, oxygen- thieves in Congress have finally outdone themselves. They are debating whether to confiscate the bonuses owed to AIG personnel, contractually owed I might add, in order to cover their own incompetence. Here’s what Barney Frank had to say,
“There’s deeply rooted anger on the part of the average American,”
Yes, there is. But it is directed toward Congress, not AIG. Or at least it should be. They are proposing to steal back the retention bonuses by taxing them, at the federal level, at 90%.
“We figured that the local and state governments would take care of the other 10 percent,” said Rep. Charles Rangel of New York, chairman of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee.
Got that? The same Charlie Rangel who hasn’t paid taxes on his vacation rental, among other ethics violations, for years. Michelle Malkin has more.
Update, the House voted 328-93 in favor of stealing back the bonuses. The lunatics have taken over the asylum. Now that they are emboldened, watch out. Remember, this is just a smoke screen to distract you from the fact that their bailout is not working, and that they have no idea what to do next. Ms Malkin again.
