Bill Maher reaffirms his dishonesty…

Perennial lounge lizard, and renowned venereal disease researcher, Bill Maher once again demonstrates the dishonesty of the left.  When he is not busy chasing his whore-du-jour around his Brentwood mansion, Toyota Prius included, or forming deep and meaningful relationships at the Playboy Mansion, he occasionally puts Crayola to paper over at that swamp of insanity, the Huffington Post.  I decline to link to them, but here is a smattering of his ramblings, on the Van Jones story,

What got Van Jones fired was they caught him on tape saying that Republicans are assholes. And they call it “news.” And Obama didn’t say a word in defense of Jones and basically fired him when Glenn Beck told him to. Just like we dropped “end of life counseling” from health care reform because Sarah Palin said it meant “death panels” on her Facebook page.

Aren’t we lucky?  Two stupidities for the price of one, in a single paragraph.  Van Jones was fired not for calling Republicans “assholes”;  nor was he even fired for being an avowed Communist.  He was fired for being a Truther.  He honestly believes that the previous administration had a hand in the events of 9/11.  That is despicable and an insult to all those who were murdered on that day, and to those who risked, and in some cases lost, their lives in the rescue attempt.  For the truth on Van Jones, click here, and here.  Ms Palin defended her remarks here,

In his speech the President directly responded to concerns I’ve raised about unelected bureaucrats being given power to make decisions affecting life or death health care matters. He called these concerns “bogus,” “irresponsible,” and “a lie” — so much for civility. After all the name-calling, though, what he did not do is respond to the arguments we’ve made, arguments even some of his own supporters have agreed have merit.

In fact, after promising to “make sure that no government bureaucrat …. gets between you and the health care you need,” the President repeated his call for an Independent Medicare Advisory Council — an unelected, largely unaccountable group of bureaucrats charged with containing Medicare costs. He did not disavow his own statement that such a group, working outside of “normal political channels,” should guide decisions regarding that “huge driver of cost … the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives….”

Then Bill drooled on himself a little.

I love Obama’s civility in the face of such contumely, his desire to work with his enemies, it’s positively Christ-like.

For once, I almost agree with Maher, in the sense that, if by “Christ-like” he means that Barry is currently being crucified in the polls, and by his opponents.  Maher really is a bitter, little man who seems to get angrier the more he becomes irrelevant, as his HBO show dwindles into significance.  This man was a major network star, for what that is worth, until his angry politics, his huge ego and his ever more radical views relegated him to obscurity.  Hope you saved your money, Bill.

Here’s a little palate cleanser to show you that not all Hollywood celebs are loons.  Here, Maher is on the Craig Ferguson show.  He is being quite reasonable, for him, but watch how the room chills when his views on child molestation become apparent.  It goes frosty, round about when Craig says “You don’t have any kids, do you Bill?” FYI, he did not return after the commercial break.
