The sky is blue, grass is green…
…politicians lie, nothing startling there. However, when a pol lies with no provocation, or any benefit therefrom, it is a little disconcerting. Why risk a lie, especially one so easily dis-proven, when there is no need? A total lack of character is the obvious answer. Hillary Clinton, named after famed New Zealand mountaineer Sir Edmund Hillary(Not) five years before he was known to anyone, who also survived being shot at in her famed “Tuzla-dash,” as I reported here is a past master at the unnecessary fib. She also famously played soccer at her high school; years before the sport was added to the curriculum, amongst her many fabrications.
Now, it seems, young Barry has joined in, as this article from Politico reveals,
“I don’t know if anybody else will meet their future wife or husband in class like I did, but I’m sure that you’re all going to have wonderful careers,” he said as he warmed up the audience before delivering a commencement speech at an economics school in Moscow Tuesday.
Except that it is not in the least bit true. Another easily dis-proven lie.
But the truth is that the couple met not “in class” but at a law firm in Chicago, Sidley Austin, in 1989. Obama was a summer associate
But the most galling aspect of this story is not his total lack of integrity, but the fawning way in which the article is written. It does not seek to expose the sheer pointlessness of the lie, it merely hints that, wink wink, Barry will catch a little flack from the missus and pathetically tries to cover for him, as they always do.
It was unclear what prompted Obama’s confusion or lapse of memory, though he does have the excuse of jet lag
Or maybe he has the excuse that he will always say anything, or do anything, that is necessary to curry favor with the public, further his agenda or make him look good. Truth be damned.
