Karl Malden. R.I.P.
We lost a true Hollywood legend today with the passing of Oscar-winning actor Karl Malden at the age of 97. From being a priest in “On The Waterfront” to playing homicide detective Lt Mike Stone on “The Streets of San Francisco” he entertained us over many decades. In all, he starred in over 50 movies, winning an Oscar for his role as Mitch in “A Streetcar named Desire.” However, he recalled that it was the American Express commercial that the public identified with him the most, from the LA Times,
After 50 years of doing all those other things in the business, wherever I go, the one thing people will say to me is, ‘Don’t leave home without it,’ ” Malden said in 1989. “What am I going to say? It’s kind of frustrating in a way, but at the same time, American Express has been very good to me, and it’s given me independence
Thanks for the memories, Mr Malden.

Much, much more over at Big Hollywood. Well, where else?
